Hi! I'm Carrie, the owner of Two Carrots Studio and The TIny Shop Upstairs.

I've been working in metals since 1998, after taking just one class to learn how to make a ring. Since then I have taken numerous classes, including two summer programs at Red Deer Polytechnic's Series Summer Arts. I am part of the instructor roster at Bedrock Supply, teaching silversmithing and enamel classes. I also offer lessons here at the studio.

I'm a Jill of all trades, and have worked a lot of interesting  jobs, from slinging bagel samples,  selling shoes, framing pictures, to a 15 year career with Home Depot.

I came to my arts career later in life, and it's transformed how I look at the world and I am thankful for all the opportunities it has opened up to me. I'm a proud partner of the non-profit Hand2Hand Artisan Society, I had my first art show in 2021 and have exhibited artwork at Gallery 501 with the Alberta Sculptor's Association.

I have two quirky, artistic daughters (16 & 10) and a somewhat well behaved black Labrador named Audrey. We just welcomed Edward the Orange kitten to the family.

The Tiny Shop Upstairs came to be during the pandemic, as a way to support the arts community in Edmonton. Temporarily closed in the winter of 2021, our new space is up and running, supporting over 30 artists and artisans from our community.

Shopping local is even more important than ever. When you buy from a maker or a small business, it makes a huge impact. Every one of our makers or artists has a story, and your support helps them realize a dream.

Come browse the shop, tour the studio and classroom and see some of the wares we have for sale. We have a selection of high quality handmade goods you won't find anywhere else.

Our spot in the French Quarter is wonderful, and we have some amazing neighbours as well.

Unbelts, Salon Social, The Columbian, Foxglove Wellness, BulGoGi House, Duggan's Boundary Pub, Cafe Bicyclette and La Cite Francophone are just steps away. Come explore!

I'm a growing artist, among other things.  I've been teaching children in grades K-6 for over 20 years in the public school system.  I taught various grades and worked as a Visual Arts specialist at Virginia Park School for 14 years.

Working my entire career in arts based schools has helped me develop a deeper passion for the arts, specifically how they transform people and transcend time.

My next career move takes me out of the classroom but continuing to work with Edmonton Public as a Visual Arts Consultant.  I will be creating supports for K-6 teachers for implementation of the new Provincial Arts Curriculum in the field of Visual Arts.  I'm excited for this new role!

I'm married, mom to Grade 10 twin boys, we have a big handsome Bernese Mountain dog named Fergus, and a black purring machine named Crackie.

I love that I can bring my passion for the arts to a studio setting.

I hope your children will come and create with me!
